  11. The American Hearts & Spades Players Association (AHSPA) is dedicated to the promotion of these two Classic Card Games. The AHSPA recognizes performance and excellence of all Members.
  12. Two types of events are sanctioned:

  14. 1. "Live" Tournaments at various designated local, regional and national venues.
  15.  
  16. 2. Internet-Web sites featuring tournament competition.

  18. BENEFITS
  19.  
  20. AHSPA awards Master (Ratings) Points at all sanctioned events. Members have the opportunity to establish ratings based on their performance, and to compete in various Class Level events with opponents of equal or comparable strength. Master and Grand Master Ranks are achieved by earning Ratings Points.

A bi-monthly Newsletter will be published and will feature "Top Ten" Ratings lists by region, game strategy, announcements of "Live" events, and the list of Regional Directors. You will be able to download and print each issue (or it will be mailed to you.) All AHSPA players receive a membership card and info package.

The Membership Fee is twenty dollars per year, which allows you to participate in sanctioned events, earn Master Points, receive the Newsletter, and qualify for Awards. Players reaching Master Level in either game receive a Certificate recognizing their acheivement. Grand Masters receive free Lifetime Membership, and a Special Plaque with the appropriate Hearts or Spades Logo.
